A young a promising four-piece, Young Jack are an indie-rock band with a bucket load of potential, Browse caught up with them to get the full script on them.

So lads, you've featured in Browse Magazine before with The Sesh reviews, but for those who don't know can you tell us a bit about who you guys are and whats behind the name? Hello! We are Young Jack, we're all related and all called Jack, that's where the name came from! We are a 4 sometimes 5 sometimes 6 piece indie rock band trying to bring back the funk to the people.

Being Hull locals, how do you find Hull as a place for a young bands and musicians to get some gig experience and make a name for themselves? Being from Hull is great, there's loads of places to play and it's a nice and friendly scene with some great bands. The Sesh is one of our favourite nights and is a great place to get yourself heard! Adelphi has to be top of our list of venues in Hull, its history and intimacy is great. You always know you're going to have a good night. For people looking to start out, Adelphi is the place, the atmosphere is great. Any people, artists, in particular who inspired the Young Jack sound?

Err quite a lot! If we were to name a few they would be: Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kings of Leon, the Beatles, Sly and the Family Stone, The Isley Brothers, The Housemartins and Susan Boyle.

You're a young and fledgling indie-rock band so it has got to be asked - what would you say the wildest moment has been whilst you've been together?

That would definitely have to be when we went to Ibiza, we had everything payed for to go play with the Happy Mondays but sadly the full event was cancelled two days before! We still went and had a crazy week. Until next time....

What's a typical weekday like for the Young Jack lads?

Well 3 of us are at college doing music, its great fun. The other one is sadly stuck in a boring office job haha. Is there anything in particular you guys are looking forward to gig-wise?

We have sorted ourselves a little tour out in December with 6 dates out of town up to now! We also are playing in Hull at The Welly club in December during our tour supporting a great band from the 90's called 'Cast'. We are all super excited for this and have sold quite a few tickets already. So if anybody wants a ticket let us know ASAP!! We have the cheapest tickets in town for it.

Rumour has it you're flogging Young Jack tees, where can we get them?

Yes that's true, they're LIMITED EDITION BLACK T-SHIRTS at a cheap price of £8 including a free digital download of our latest EP 'Gold'. They're available to buy on our Bandcamp page. The link to our Bandcamp page is on all our social networking sites for example - Facebook, Twitter etc.

Where can we expect to see Young Jack in five years time do you think? Glasto dreams?

Hopefully all our dreams will become true and we will be playing big festivals and become a successful band around the UK. All we've got to do is keep pushing ourselves to our limits and keep gigging across the UK and making some good contacts. But for now... we'll keep dreaming! Cheers boys
