Brief: The client has specifically asked for a few articles which focus on how makeup-wearers can keep their skin looking youthful and healthy. Can you create a 400-word article which gives this advice in a fresh way that will resonate with make-up wearers? We’re looking for you to make the article as informative as possible, while still keeping it engaging. You should aim to use a ‘real-life’ tone of voice which makes the client seem personable.

Before, During and After - How to Beat Ageing Skin

We know how frustrating it can be when your skin starts to age, especially as we strive to be the most youthful version of ourselves. With our help and years of hands-on experience and skin-science knowledge, we have come up with a simple and affordable make-up routine which avoids the often scantily described ‘7 ways to’ lists, and will ensure your skin fights back those tell-tale signs of ageing.

‘Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.’

The trick really is in the preparation, giving your skin the very best chance to retain its youth. Begin with applying an SPF tinted moisturiser to the face and neck, this will protect the skin from any further sunlight damage - one of the main contributors to ageing skin - and provide you with a natural-looking radiance due to the subtle tint.

You want youthful? Then less is more!

Stay away from heavy foundations and stay true to a lighter-veiled choice, enabling your skin to peep through to retain a natural but fresh look that reduces the appearance of pores. When applied evenly and in an upwards motion, this method acts as a leveller and embellishes glow. To embrace that healthier look, use highlighters to add definition to the tops of the cheeks, brow line and nose ridge, whilst concealing any dark circles or ‘crow’s feet’ underneath the eyes.

Many of us make the mistake of applying far too much mascara in an attempt to add length to our eyelashes. Don’t. We recommend applying a lighter mascara ONCE a day which not only adds volume, but also encourages natural growth over time, giving you a fresh, wide-awake appearance.

Another big indicator of ageing is the mouth region, and yet again we find that less is more. Use lip balms to retain moisture, whilst avoiding the ever-tempting matte lipsticks will stave off the appearance of dryness.

Remove. Hydrate. Rest.

Look after yourself by thoroughly cleansing the areas you have applied make-up. Once removed, make sure to moisturise your neck and apply anti-ageing cream to combat tightness of the skin and any premature wrinkles. Last but not least, treat yourself! Using a silk eye mask will keep your eye area hydrated, thus reducing the appearance of fine lines that so often plague the eyes.

There you have it, our tried and tested youth routine! To discover more of our make-up tips, be sure to stay alert ahead of our weekly blog posts and articles.
