Belgian Peter Van Hoesen releases a four-track EP on Dekmantel´s embryonic darker sibling series ´UFO´. The EP furthers Dekmantel´s reputation as innovators, as Van Hoesen presents a vividly moody sound which expands the label´s repertoire into darkbeat and futuristic techno.

´Quadra´

With a bass heavy soul, Quadra incorporates intricate synth layering to create an expansive track which continually seduces whilst gliding upon its recurring tidal ebb and flows. Rogue acid textures infiltrate to push the mesmeric sound further into the intriguing darkness that Van Hoesen is notorious for sculpting.

´Cartesian Taiko´

Van Hoesen leaves the sci-fi realm of ´Quadra´ to enter a techno rainforest, presenting ´Cartesian Taiko´ as a foreboding techno track littered with jungle influences. With beckoning synths the track pushes the boundaries of darkwave beats whilst riding upon its drum-ridden foundation which will undoubtedly ensnare crowds into Hoesen´s viscous EBM web.

´Duet Dub´

From its genesis to its terminus, ´Duet Dub´ pays homage to its name, presenting a turbulent breakbeat structure which continues the EP´s galactic and intimidating charm, drawing comparisons to artists such as the ever-present Surgeon.

´P2ME´

Through an increase to 130bpm, Van Hoesen earmarks ´P2ME´ as a chunky industrial utensil for raising the intensity of a climactic set. The continuous metallic clunk of percussion draws an inevitable Detroit-esque comparison, befitting of the impending nature of the track.
